Welcome to the Larch Virtual Experiment Station (LVES). We promote interest in and the use of various Larix species in the Northeast US and eastern Canada. While we are situated in Maine, our interest ranges from the Lake States to Nova Scotia. We are focused primarily on hybrid larch (L. x marschlinsii Coaz), but have on-going interest in European (L. decidua P.Mill. ), Japanese (L. kaempferi (Lamb) Carriere), Siberian (L. sibirica) or Dahurian larch (L. gmelinii) and the native tamarack (L. laricina, (du Roi) K. Koch).
Hopefully, you’ll find useful information here.
